Pet Portrait Submission Info

Photo Tips:

• I will paint your dog or cat from a photo(s) that you provide and that we agree is suitable. Having several to choose from will really help. Photos must be high resolution, as I will need to print a large photo to work from. No thumbnails, photos done with filters, etc.. 
• With the standard 8"x10" painting, the photo will need to be a fairly close up head shot, with part of the neck and shoulders visible, but not a full body shot. Side profiles, partially turned heads, reflections in eyes, visible ears...these are great things to look for in a photo. Good lighting is a must, indoor or outdoor but with strong shadows and definition...the more I can see to paint, the more I can make it special for you! If you'd like to include a specific item like a bandana or ball, let me know and make sure it is clear in the photos.

Painting Specifics:

• Standard portraits will be approximately 9"x11" overall, with an image size of about 8"x10" and a white/unpainted border about 1" around to allow room for matting. They are unframed, painted with high quality watercolors on 300lb Fabriano soft press watercolor paper. If you prefer a larger size, perhaps with an additional dog or a special background, toy or blanket etc., let me know and I'll be glad to quote you additional pricing.
• I will choose an abstract background in a color I feel suits the portrait, unless you have another preference. Please see the Portfolio section of the site for examples.
• Pricing: Portrait as described above is $175, plus shipping if required. Portraits will be mailed USPS or UPS, carefully packed and boxed. I require a non refundable deposit of $50, with the balance due on completion prior to shipping. 
• Payments will be made through Square Up, I will email you an invoice that you can pay directly from.
• Lead time is approximately 4 weeks, depending on time of year and my schedule. I will keep in touch with you regarding the status of your project. If the portrait is done during the holidays, or if you have a gift date in mind, please let me know and I will try to make it happen!
